For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection. -Romans 6:5 KJV
Good morning, Jesus,
This morning I’m reminded that over 2,000 years ago you woke up on the day of your execution.
Did the birds sing? ![]()
Did the light of dusk ripple across the sky the same? ![]()
It’s still dark outside my window
, & I’m thinking of you.
Of what you must have been thinking & how you were feeling. ![]()
And I feel glimmers of your deep humility and the glorious joy you were looking forward to. ![]()
I sense your powerful worship as you took every step toward the cross in obedience to our Heavenly Father. ![]()
I taste your passionate love
.
And I weep and rejoice in the same breath. ![]()
I fall upon you in broken worship, in love and adoration. ![]()
I kiss the hands
that bled for me.
I don’t shy away from your blood
.
If I could go back, I would hold you, wipe your bloodied face and kiss your lifeless, tear-stained cheeks. ![]()
I hope to hold you now in my heart. ![]()
Thank you for paying the price I could never pay. Thank you for dwelling in me now and for showing me how to live a crucified life so that I may be one with you, experiencing eternal life in the face of death. ![]()

:
Lead Me to the Cross ![]()
Savior I come, quiet my soul
Remember redemption’s hill
Where Your blood was spilled
For my ransom
Everything I once held dear
I count it all as loss
Lead me to the cross where Your love poured out
Bring me to my knees, Lord, I lay me down
Rid me of myself, I belong to You
Oh, lead me
Lead me to the cross
You were as I, tempted and trialled
You are, the Word became flesh
Bore my sin and death
Now You’re risen
Everything I once held dear
I count it all as loss
Lead me to the cross where Your love poured out
Bring me to my knees, Lord, I lay me down
Rid me of myself, I belong to You
Oh, lead me
Lead me to the cross
To Your heart
To Your heart
Lead me to Your heart
Lead me to Your heart
Lead me to the cross where Your love poured out
Bring me to my knees, Lord, I lay me down
Rid me of myself, I belong to You
Oh, lead me
Lead me
Lead me to the cross where Your love poured out
Bring me to my knees, Lord, I lay me down
Rid me of myself, I belong to You
Oh, lead me
Lead me to the cross
